alabaster ministries - OCTOBER 2006 UPDATE - reaching out to fatherless and widows
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27a).The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widows (Ps. 146:9a).
The summer of 2003 was one of our biggest steps in taking "Alabaster" to a new level. Kathy and I were able to lead worship in several key areas of Europe for the purpose of raising funds to bless some widows and their children in Kosovo. We were able to purchase a tractor for several families to use for farming as well as to provide indoor plumbing to two families that have about 15 children between them. To be able to do this has been an encouragement for us begin doing more of these types of outreaches with Alabaster.
During last months' four continent reintroduction to ministry, we
were able to re-connect in Amsterdam with several key individuals who worked with us on our tour in 2003, and discuss some options for next steps in reaching out to orphans and widows. As a result, we are now actively planning another European outreach, which will focus on restoring worship in some of the great Cathedrals of Europe, while at the same time, raising funds to restore the lives of orphans and widows in southern and eastern Europe. Though we are still working on details, we would so appreciate your prayers for wisdom, as well as timing. We are confident God's heart is in this, and that He is leading our paths as we seek to build a bridge between the love we find in God's presence, and the love we share with those who are broken. As we get more details, we will update them to this page. We would love to have a strong prayer base as we make some new steps ahead.
