Take My Healing To The Nations

 And the Lord answered me:

“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.

For still the vision awaits its appointed time;   

 it hastens to the end—it will not lie.If it seems slow, wait for it;   

 it will surely come, it will not delay."

This beautiful passage of scripture is one that has meant so much to me over my 50+ years in ministry, but has taken on special meaning in recent days.

Around 2015 I began to sense that I was now to start the process of writing down the journey of God’s call on my life regarding worship and its resulting impact on the nations.  The world’s most enduring, accurate and popular written record is the Bible, and it is, in itself, a clear statement of how important it is to write down the amazing impact of God’s goodness throughout history and across the globe.  Along this theme, my very first musical recording was titled “Take My Healing To The Nations”, and prior to going to the studio I asked God specifically to give me a word from scripture that would confirm for me that this step was something He was initiating.   With all the many singers/songwriters/writers in the Christian world, I was feeling extremely unqualified, and desperate for something to assure me that this was His purpose for me. After praying for a confirming word…”Should I record Lord”?…., I turned to the book of Exodus 38:21, and there, verbatim, was the word I had asked God for: ”These are the records of the Tabernacle, the Tabernacle of the testimony, as they were recorded at the commandment of Moses……THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LEVITES”…..(the worship team).  There it was…God’s confirming word to step into the studio.

It’s amazing to me that now, some 40 years later, that small beginning effort at music “recording” (released initially as a cassette), Take My Healing To The Nations is still one of my most frequently requested song compilations, and the one that also became the launching pad for 20 or more recordings both live and in-studio!

It has become such a blessed gift from God to see the importance of memorializing the acts of our awesome God in music and song, and to see its impact on people around the globe.  For many years, I have been actively participating in music, and am looking forward to continuing to do so in the days ahead!  However, the Holy Spirit has been strongly confirming that this command to record is to take on a different mode, by stepping into another act of faith and write a book to recall some of the nation-changing ways of God I’ve seen over these many years in ministry.

At this time we are anticipating the book, “Take My Healing To The Nations” (working title) will most likely be available in the next 6 to 8 months.  The project has certainly taken some twists and turns with a number of disappointments and struggles, as is to be expected with any fresh step of faith.  There have also been some exciting victories in that I have recently signed a publishing agreement with “Trilogy Publishing”, the literary arm of Trinity Broadcasting Network! This is an exciting development, and as such, Kathy and I do so appreciate your prayers in this endeavor!  We are humbly confident that the Holy Spirit will encourage and bring healing to the lives of many as a result of this new written “recording”.    As Jesus so beautifully said to His disciples in Mark 16:15,  “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation”……in other words….”TAKE MY HEALING TO THE NATIONS”
